Whole Blood vs Plasma?

[Time for a rant]

Who the heck decided that measuring whole blood was a good thing?!? Especially without a reference chart! I'm not sure if they think you're actually supposed to treat these the same as plasma numbers, but they're not! I don't even know the brand of meter I've been using, but it's the medtronic sponsored one that communicates with my pump. Stomach hair + insulin pump = OUCH!

I can't decide what to do.
I always have the intention that before putting in an infusion site on my stomach, I will shave the little patch where it will go. "Why", you may ask... Because it hurts like heckeroony when it comes off.
I know people say it's just like a bandaid - rip it off quick and it won't be as bad... but there's a reason why I leave bandaids on until they fall off! Unfortunately, I can't leave an infusions site in for the length of time it would take to fall off.
