wow, Michelle, sorry to hear about your accident. You wouldn't think such a devastating outcome would happen from a 40 mph rear-ender. When did the accident happen?

Still here and kicking!!!!

Am still not sleeping even though doc gave me sleeping pills and she has increased me to two a night. I guess my body just won't give up and go to sleep. I sleep around 2 maybe 3 nights a week. My husband has been so ill. He is a diabetic and was one long before I was. He has been in bed for the past three weeks. At one point he almost died from glucophage and they can't seem to find out what is wrong with him. He has had accute pancreatitis three times in the las ten months. They keep asking hi… Continue

HERE IS MY STORY

I am an incomplete quad from a car accident, a lady eating her lunch didn't see I was stopped waiting for a truck to turn (in a little sports car) she hit my car going about 40 MPH and pushed my car under the truck. Shattered both my jaws, ruptured my discs at C4,5,6 and this hit my spinal cord causing a cyst in the middle of spinal cord. I can not feel anything from head to toe.Am in a motorized wheelchair and am at home all the time! That is on the outside of my body. The inside feels like a t… Continue

The doggie in the picture is a sheltie. Her name was Cinnamon Spice. She was my bestest buddy for quite a few years. I met her when I was given emergency housing through the church and her owners were the ones who took me in. She had to be put down maybe 9 years back. In fact, just a short week before my Mom died.

I am sleeping a LOT in the past few days. I've been running a fever raning from 99.9 to 100.9. Last evening I splashed hot oil on my upper/inner arm and got 1st & 2nd degree burns!!! Hurts like HELL!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I have the chills and fevers because of the burns.

Time for me to take a break. I'm gonna take a few days off and just sleep, take my pain meds and sleep some more. My body is under attack!!

Keep well in the meantime.

If you are wondering about the purple Hello's, I am nuts about the color. I will buy almost anything purple.

Sorry I drove you crazy this a.m. I never thought about how it looked to others. In fact, I really didn't know! I should take that off. I really have never not approved a message; although, it is a good way to find out when I get a comment as a message comes through on my e-mail.

My pharmacist gave me some sort of salve and, so far, it's OK. I will let you know how it works. Another pharmacist told me that she couldn't give me anything that would help and that I needed to see a DR and get a prescription. It still burns a lot and, when I don't have them in water, they seem to dry out badly.

There but for the grace of God go I. I thought I had it bad with all the darn pain, swelling, allergies, loneliness, depression, medications, money problems, yadda yadda yadda!! You got me beat Mich!

My visiting nurse just commented that Medicare is going to start throwing fits because they don't have any long-term plans for me and the stupid lymphedema. I guess they will only pay for so much. I could have graduated to compression stockings but then got that damnable would on my the sole of my left foot. I ended up in the hospital on IV antibiotics at the end of May into June. A whole 8 days. Also had a staph infection on it. Siiiiiiggggghhhhh!!!!!!!

Well, the smell of my supper is getting to me. I had better go and eat it!

Take care and God watch over you.

Fooled ya! I figured out why you thought you weren't successful in posting. You WERE! I have a requirement that I need to approve all messages before publishing them on my site. I went through that for a while myself and when you indicated that you were having trouble I put it all together. Sorry you had to do all that typing.

Sorry to hear about all your physical problems. Like you said, there's always someone else worse off out there. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it all. I have almost died 5 times with pulmonary emboli and DVTs. I should have, but God keeps throwing me back!!! I guess I'm not done here on earth.

I only slept about 1-1/2 to 2 hours. I was in bed longer, but kept waking up and then finally gave up. So I got up and made a small ham sandwich and some yogurt. Yummmmm ... raspberry white chocolate!!!!

The weirdest thing happened on Saturday night. I finished doing the dishes and sat down. Looked at my hands and found huge areas of fluid-less "blisters." Pulled at them and I peeled my whole palm, between the fingers down to the wrist and up some of the fingers (all on the left). I then looked at the right hand and I was "peeling" between the fingers there, too. I'm still peeling ... no matter how much hand moisturizer I apply. I guess I have to call the DR.

Well, by now, you ought to be in bed. Nighty nite!

Glad you want to know me. It's a long story, so you might be better off starting by going to my page and reading up. Right now, I have to do an hour's worth of specialized lymphedema treatment and then I am going to bed and HOPE TO SLEEP!!

Talk to you soon.

I'm up and down with the sleep thing. I'm in so much pain between the neuropathy, the lymphedema, the bad back and the swollen tendons in the hands that sometimes I just wish I were dead. And then there are times when I'm sooooooo tired that there is no such thing as staying awake. That usually happens during the day!!!

Hope youo will feel free to visit my site any time you want. I may not always be on-line, but I try for every day.

Are you new? I don't see very many messages and no welcoming message. If that's the case, I apologize for nobody greeting you sooner. I hope you don't think this is an indicator of the site. We are genuinely a caring community. So sorry I missed you day, though. I spent the day snoozing since I haven't been sleeping well for the last week. Now I can't sleep tonight!! Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful day.
