"Just had the first failure in a while and it was a Sept 13 pod. I don't know however what manufacturing date the previous pods were making it pretty hard to tell if that date makes the difference."

Michiel-prikkebeen replied to Dondi's discussion 'Omnipod (New Version) Failures' in the group OmniPod Users
"Hoi Janneke! There is one thing that would explain the "batchy behaviour": it is of course possible that an entire box has suffered from a particularly rough journey to get to you. (still, all the other gadgets I order online arrive…"

Michiel-prikkebeen replied to Dondi's discussion 'Omnipod (New Version) Failures' in the group OmniPod Users
"Perhaps you'd better wait for a little while before you make the switch; I never had a tubed pump but a friend of mine does and the only advantage of the tubed system is reliability. Even though that is a serious issue, I got the impression…"

Michiel-prikkebeen replied to Dondi's discussion 'Omnipod (New Version) Failures' in the group OmniPod Users
"The bad news is: the Omnipod is unpredictable. The good news is: it is unpredictable. After weeks with multiple failures (mostly it would be three or four in a row) I have now been without failure for almost a month. What boggles me most is that I…"

Michiel-prikkebeen replied to Dondi's discussion 'Omnipod (New Version) Failures' in the group OmniPod Users
"To me that seems part of the problem: there is no other pod system, there is no competition for Insulet and there is no proper alternative for users. And perhaps for good reasons other companies haven't bothered with getting into this…"

Michiel-prikkebeen replied to Dondi's discussion 'Omnipod (New Version) Failures' in the group OmniPod Users
"So you think that suddenly I have lost the delicate skill of using the pods? As I said I have been using them without problems for a long time. It could be that some users are experiencing problems because they ARE different. I was suggested that…"

Michiel-prikkebeen replied to Dondi's discussion 'Omnipod (New Version) Failures' in the group OmniPod Users
"That's the thing: I don't get it either! Everything used to work fine (I was actually pretty impressed by how much of a beating the Pod takes without hurting me or giving errors). Heck, I went kayaking for two weeks in Sweden (including…"

Michiel-prikkebeen replied to Dondi's discussion 'Omnipod (New Version) Failures' in the group OmniPod Users
"Thinking I had not considered that is pretty naive. Next to that: giving up just like that is not on my to do list for today. Most of all; my bloodsugar is miles better with a pump but I don;t have the real estate to accommodate a normal pump. I…"

Michiel-prikkebeen replied to Dondi's discussion 'Omnipod (New Version) Failures' in the group OmniPod Users
