Hello and welcome to TuDiabetes. it's great you joined the community for your daughter. I was 10 years old when I started to shot with insulin, so many years ago! So Bienvenue!

I can imagine how difficult this has been for all of you. I'm glad that the pump is helping.

I think it is important to know (and remind your daughter) that she can live her life and do all the things that she dreams of!! She will have to 'take her diabetes with her', but that will become normal (not easy, but normal). I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 21. My dream was to live abroad after college. MANY people told me that I should not go abroad as a new type 1 diabetic. My parents told me to figure out how to take care of myself and go. I went and I am sure glad that I didn't let diabetes hold me back. I'm now married to a Hungarian and still living 'abroad'.

The hardest thing that I faced after diagnosis was trying to imagine that life would ever be normal. But it seems that you are working hard to know how to take care of your daughter. This is the greatest gift that you can give her. :)

Take care!
