There’s lots of discussion here and elsewhere on the web about Paula Deen’s diagnosis. I think that most of us would agree that nobody “deserves” diabetes and if we want to blame anything we need to take a look at our country’s diet…not just one woman’s.
That being said, I think that many of us aren’t giving enough credit to a recently diagnosed woman. I am incredibly thankful that I didn’t have national attention at the time of diagnosis because I was completely ignorant and would…

I see this is a real friendly group. I just got the D word from the VA so I haven't done much yet except try to change my eating. I drive around all day for work so it's tough. Being overweight it's tougher as everything has either too much salt, fat, carbs or all of the above. By the way, I saw one of your pics including Diet Coke. I've been drinking the caffiene-free version for many years; I understand caffiene's no good for diabetics either.
Anyway, I've gotta go to work but I'll be happy to talk with you further as your so local. Maybe we could meet for donuts! Later, mma
