It's here !

Got the Navigator today. There it was waiting for me when I got home from work. Read throught the book and did the insertion at 1500. I'm hoping that this will work better than the Dexcomm did.

Ditching the DEX for a Nav

I may be one of the few, but I'm dumping the Dex7+ and switching to the Nav.I have had nothing but problems with the Dex and cant use it anymore. I'm not saying it is a bad product, only that it does not work for me. In the recent past I had 5 sensors in a row fail within 3 hours of insertion. I have had multiple times when I would get a high alert and acknowledge it only to have the receiver reinitialize itself. Support told me it was a sensor issue, the district manager told me it was a receiv… Continue

ALL RIGHTY THEN......

Well I,ve been on the POD not for about a month. I just love this thing. I've been working with my Endo to bring my numbers down...what a surprise. Well it's working. I've been tracking my numbers and my Endo did not belive that I was giving him the true numbers. I requested he do a A1C so we could find out. He told me that it has not been 3 months yet so the numbers would not be as good as I thought. WRONG ! they came back at 6.4....down from 9.8.....YA MON.

Off we go !

After a lot of screwing around with doctors, I just started on the POD on the 15/OCt . I must say it's weird not to be giving myself injections....but I'll get used to that. So far my numbers have been great. I've gone low ( 53 & 62 ) twice.Otherwise the highest I've been was first thing today, I was at 94. Everything I've read & everyone I've talked to have told me that it will take a while for things to settle down. My Endo told me that at the start my numbers would probably go up for… Continue

HUH ????

Well the Omnipod is sitting at the house doing nothing. The Omnipod folks have been nothing but wonderfulllllllllllll. The problem is my Doc. He was willing to fill out the paperwork so I could get the Pod, but he wont fill out the orders for the rates....etc. I found this out from my trainer...not the Doc. He didnt even have the guts to call me and let me know. I sent an e-mail to him and have not gotten any form of responce....go figure It seems the earliest I can get into see the Endo Doc is… Continue

There's the navigator holster attached with tape to his stem. Hopefully you can make something very similar work for you!

I wear it exclusively on the backs of my arms. On my upper abdomen, it tends to itch and I don't like the way it lays there when I'm driving (I guess I sit differently while driving). I don't like infusing into my upper abdomen either - I think my underbelly has much more sensitive skin. (*scratches furiously at the tape near her pod there*) I also think that I have such history with scar tissue in much of my abdomen that the arms are prime real estate.

But I get great readings on the arms, rarely dislodge it, and don't seem to have any problems inserting it myself (which is one complaint I hear people give about arms). Most of the time, I can't even tell which arm I'm wearing it on and most of my shirt sleeves cover the transmitter.

Hi Mike. The shots have had a really bad effect on my blood sugars. I have been running in the the high 300's and 400's range. I spoke with my MiniMed Rep. today and she said that it is not uncommon after cortisone shots. Did your thumb get better after the shot? And did the Dr. ever give you a reason as to how you got a trigger thumb in the first place?
