Reusing insulin when changing infusion set

Started this discussion. Last reply by DC Reporter Jan 21, 2011. 35 Replies

What do you all do with the insulin left in the canister when changing your infusion set? Is this something that you can reuse? Sometimes I have about 20 units or so and I feel like I'm wasting too…Continue

I am new to this site and very excited that I will soon be pumping.  I have done a lot of research and decided to go with the Animas Ping.  Now I just have to sit and wait for all of the insurance…Continue

Different numbers on twp receivers

I recently received a new Dexcom to replace my broken rail. I set up the new one and before sending the old one back figured I would track both receivers for a day or two. Surprisingly they do not show the same numbers. What do you all think?…See More

Hi Mike,
Justy a word of encouragement. I was diagnosed the summer of 1950, have been pumping for 16 years. Used Disetronic for 10 years and Animas for 6. Have used a Dexcom for 4 years. Just had my 73rd Bday. No end organ problems. Have had good treatment, rigerous self control, and good luck. A1c'sgenerally 5.8 to 6.2. I figure that since 85% of humans will have some type,of medical issue (if they live long enough), Diabetes is as good as it gets. Keep a positive attitude, mind your P's and Q's, and have a great life.
