Mokiza,
For the beginner there is only revolt, against something so enveloping and life long, it's a hard thing to grasp. There is always denial and I lived in denial of 1000 things in my life before I finally accepted reality and decided to live with them. Diabetes was never one of them because I was type 1 when I was 4 years old so never knew what normal was. That was 1959. I know I was lucky in that regard.
I comes down to live and die, a choice I make weekly with ultradian bipolar. Believe me, diabetes is so bloody easy.

Mokia,
Thank you for your kind words. I have indeed been blessed by the Goddesses who have provided exactly what I needed to survive. I very nearly died 100 times in the 80s on synthetics. I am now very healthy using pork and totally expect to outlive all my healthy friends ha ha!!!!

I am retired as well at 45 because of ultradian bipolar. Lets have fun ha ha!!! I am a true Luddite and design vacuum tube pre-amps for guitar players. Everything I do, including insulin is from the 1920s ha ha!!!! Long live the past where people knew how to do it right.

Mokiza,
I have been type 1 for 51 years, since 1959, have no complications. I am different from most in that I don't count carbs but use the exchange system, use the same species of animal insulin I did in the 50s and 60s, 2 shots a day, and saw my last endo in 1969. Over the decades I have figured out what works and what does not and am an experimenter at heart. I am always eager to tell my stories or learn from others so feel free to contact me anytime.
