Please, please, oh. please do number six! I am a diabetic using a pump for a year and a half. I was recently diagnosed a little over two years ago and I watch your videos over, and over. I feel like you totally get it and I don't feel so alone. Pl...

How are things going, Neil? I am sorry I was unable to call you back after you left me a voicemail... and then, between one thing and the other, I ended up forgetting.

Neil, glad to see you could make it! And now I won't have to spend my time posting your videos and can spend more time counting used meter strips. Seriously, looking forward to part 6!

Yes, I think making fun of diabetes and the crazy things that we do makes life with the big D a lot more fun.

I just watched the 'betes part 5... :) I definitely know what you're talking about just talking randomly when low... and starting sentences that you don't really ever finish.... and you just keep talking.... and it's like you have no idea why you are actually talking...

I guess that it happens to me when I'm not low too.

The Betes Part 6

So here we are – finally. In case you’re wondering what took so long….well that’s a long story. Medtronic and I were working on a project to bring social networking to their diabetes portion of the company for the last 6 months. The video below is what was originally submitted to them to be the beginning of many posts for them and The Betes.

That didn’t work out so I’m on my own. But that leaves you. What about you, the raving fans? Well…this means that since that contract didn’t work out, I’m… Continue

Demistify Creativity - (3 of 3)

Myth #3 - I can’t turn on creativity when I want.

Well, that’s probably really close to the truth. No one likes to sit in a meeting when someone says…”OK, let’s all come up with some ideas on how to sell this broken glass to babies“. It seems as if the second you’re in a creative meeting…the creativity gets killed in a Blend-Tec. Why is that?

Usually the right atmosphere for creativity is never achieved.
Sometimes the wrong people are in the room.
You may never feel tha

I smell

photo

It’s taken 2 years, but I’ve used the last drop of cologne that I own. Or “man perfume” as some refer to it.

I was using Aqua diGio from Georgio Armani and I need something new. And not old man Stetson or musty stench of Wranglers.

While I’m totally aware that I’m setting myself up for a long line of “Eau de your mom” jokes…I’m open t… Continue

Demistify Creativity - (2 of 3)

Myth #2 - I can’t get any more creative.

If you’ve asked yourself the question, what can I add to my own creativity to get better, then you’re on the right track. Creative thinkers don’t usually get more creative…they temper themselves with something almost opposite. Here’s some examples:

You can add technical knowledge.
You can add a stronger work ethic.
You can add a closely related skill.
You can add friends with the same creative streak.

Sometimes creative peop… Continue

Demistify Creativity - (1 of 3)

Myth #1 - I’m not a creative person.

Well, that’s not true. You may not be a very creative person…but you do have some creativity.

Most people think that you’re either born with creativity or you’re not…and while there’s some truth to that, we’re all given some creativity to work with. Creativity doesn’t always mean that you can paint an oil masterpiece or compose a concerto in B minor. If that were the case…I’d be the least creative person on the planet. Here’s ano… Continue
