The Betes - Episode #9 - Inserters, are you chicken?

Posted on June 2, 2014 at 8:44am 10 Comments

So, just short of walking around shirtless and flexing constantly...I've been wanting to show people how to put in a Medtronic Infusion Set and make it less about the pain - and more about the fact that it's not the end of the world.

That being said, these are fairly elementary level "how to" videos that are meant to de-mistify the whole insulin pump thing. Can't even begin to count the amount of people that ask me questions about this and now I don't have to give a dissertation on…

The Betes Part 6

Posted on October 6, 2009 at 6:28am 0 Comments

So here we are – finally. In case you’re wondering what took so long….well that’s a long story. Medtronic and I were working on a project to bring social networking to their diabetes portion of the company for the last 6 months. The video below is what was originally submitted to them to be the beginning of many posts for them and The Betes.

That didn’t work out so I’m on my own. But that leaves you. What about you, the raving fans? Well…this means that since that contract didn’t… Continue

Myth #3 - I can’t turn on creativity when I want.

Well, that’s probably really close to the truth. No one likes to sit in a meeting when someone says…”OK, let’s all come up with some ideas on how to sell this broken glass to babies“. It seems as if the second you’re in a creative meeting…the creativity gets killed in a Blend-Tec. Why is that?

Usually the right atmosphere for creativity is never achieved.

Sometimes the wrong people are in the…

I smell

It’s taken 2 years, but I’ve used the last drop of cologne that I own. Or “man perfume” as some refer to it.

I was using Aqua diGio from Georgio Armani and I need something new. And not old man Stetson or musty stench of Wranglers.

While I’m totally aware that I’m setting myself up for a long line of “Eau de your mom” jokes…I’m open to suggestions.

So, are there any good colognes I should… Continue

Myth #2 - I can’t get any more creative.

If you’ve asked yourself the question, what can I add to my own creativity to get better, then you’re on the right track. Creative thinkers don’t usually get more creative…they temper themselves with something almost opposite. Here’s some examples:

You can add technical knowledge.

You can add a stronger work ethic.

You can add a closely related skill.

You can add friends with the same creative…
