Hey guys :) I'm Nicolette & I'm now 17. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes March 6, 2009. I'm currently on the omnipod, but I've been on the animas ping for 3 years prior. It really makes my life easier and helps me to control my diabetes...If you have any questions about me or my expeirence with the pump/diabetes please feel free to contact me!! :)
Hi, I'm currently on the omnipod system (pump system) and i've noticed that I've been using a lot more insulin in the past year compared to a few years ago. I've also gained about 10-15 pounds which I know now means I need even more insulin,,,the more insulin I take it seems the more weight I gain. I use around 60-65 units a day total. How many daily do you guys use on average? Is this too much? Also my insulin to carb ratio is around 1:6 sometimes 1:7. I'm thinking if I aim around 30 units…Continue
So I started Lantus last night and I just wanted to know if anyone had any tips while I'm on it... I take Novolog as well. I'm on 22 units a day for my basal rate, but my blood sugars were high today. Does anyone have an eating regimen while taking Lantus and what do I do about exercise? Thanks guys :)
Hey guys it's been a long time since i've been on here, but I came back because I need some help...I don't know what it is, either diabetes or my diet, but I've been gaining weight and it's almost impossible to lose it...i've tried everything and I even exercise and eat a lot better now and still nothing! It's so frustrating and I don't know where else to go for advice. To be honest, I think it has a lot to do with having diabetes.
