I am happy that you are reading this and that you are a member of the growing TuDiabetes family.
Since the community was formed back in early 2007, lots of things have changed. Also since then, lots of new members have joined: we're now nearly 11,300 members. So, new members and new features means it never hurts to refresh how things work around the community.

If you haven't read it, I invite you to take a few minutes to go through our New Member Guide. If you have been a member for a while but have let a little dust accumulate on your TuDiabetes account, you will find it very useful.

If you don't find answers to a question you may have, never hesitate to ask. Click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page and one of the members of our Admin team (you can see their faces on the bottom right side of any page) will get back to you shortly.

Hi Nikki, its great to hear about other people with diabetes living in Ireland. I live in Dublin. I was diagnosed at age 8 going on 9, almost 30 now. I see your daughter is using the pump. I'm considering it but I'm off to see the nurse tomorrow so my husband and I will chat more about it then..
I love Australia!!! I did the year over there, think all Irish people should do it.

I'll definitely do that next time I get over to Clare. My parents live in Bray (Co. Wicklow). But I remember that road between Kilrush and Kilkee. Every summer we'd drive down from Dublin. And those last few miles (about 7 I think) from Kilrush were always the hardest. Then we'd drive round a bend in the road and see Kilkee. What a great place to be a kid. Do they still have the bakery near the fire station? And Di Lucia's chip shop on Main Street?

Welcome!
Nice to know there are parents out there who have to deal with all the same issues. I am also interested in how Diabetes are covered/handled in the countries outside the US.

What part of Co. Clare are you from? I used to holiday in Kilkee when I was a teenager and I just LOVE Clare.
