Annie replied to Nikki K's discussion 'Dating with diabetes' in the group Diabetes and Women
"I am newly diagnosed as well (July), and single and dating. My mom suggested that I not tell the guy until I was more confident in how I felt about him and vice versa. Because I feel so vulnerable about my diabetes, she didn't want me to tell…"

ADivabetic replied to Nikki K's discussion 'Dating with diabetes' in the group Diabetes and Women
"When I was leaving the hospital after being diagnosed the nurse suggested a pump but because I didn't yet know about the ominpod, I declined because I didn't want to be bothered with the tubing. I was diagmosed with type 1 the last week of…"

Emily Coles replied to Nikki K's discussion 'Dating with diabetes' in the group Diabetes and Women
"I wear an omnipod, and frequently put it on an arm, where it's quite visible. So no one knows me very long before they notice and ask what it is. I've been lucky that no one, romantic interest or otherwise, has ever expressed anything but…"

Jeff replied to Nikki K's discussion 'Flying with my Ping' in the group Animas Insulin Pump Users

"Jeff, please post what you find out. I will call Animas too and ask. I have never heard that pumps get damaged. I know your not supposto leave them on for MRI but that is a HUGE magnetic field. Not like those scanners at the airports."
