- Diagnosed as Type 2 on Nov. 30, 2009 at the age of 53 and about 45 lbs over-weight (made sense even though I had lost about 65 lbs). On Janumet for about 6 months and BS got too low, got off meds for about 5 months and BS started to get up near 200. Got back on meds, didn't seem to help, finally got sent to an Endo in Sept and found out I was truly Type 1(LADA). Antibody levels were very high (around 65 and 83). I was shocked and started on Lantus Insulin. Continued to lose weight. Now about 166# for 5'11". I was told to eat more carbs (at least 130 grams a day), to stop losing weight, and now my BS are higher (110 fasting and up to 300 pp)! Just got Dexcom a few days ago. This has all been somewhat confusing and frustrating. I have learned a lot from others blogs and appreciate the posts.
