Peggy you lows and highs are not too bad for one day. I have been as low as 68 and as high as 260's in the same day. You should try to keep fasting bs 100 or under, 1 hour after eating 140 and 2 hours after eating back to 120. This is not always possible or easy. I was born and live in Phoenix. I lived in Mesa and Tempe and Chandler. My family started in Tempe in 1870's.

Welcome! Your doctor sounds like mine. You have to start counting carbs per meal and snacks. I took a D Education class at out local county hospital. There is a lot to learn. There are great people on here who can help you. I was diagnosed in Jan'2009. Sugg.'s Go on Diabetes Daily Website-They are doing a Diabetes 101 newletter that is really helpful. 15grams of carbohydrate is 1 carb. For meals 45-60grams of carb is 3-4carbs per meal- 3X daily. 3 snacks per day 15 grams of carb is 1 carb per snack. A total of about 15-16 carbs per day about 225-240 grams of carb per day. Hopefully these sugg.'s will help you to get started.
