Hey, I'm a New Yorker diagnosed with type 1 3 months ago. I saw your post on the NYC Type 1, and I just had to comment you directly! I've been at the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia University Medical Center since April, and it's an AMAZING facility. You should check it out. They have endos, nutritionists, an eye doctor specifically for diabetics...the works. My endo there is Dr. Lauren Golden, but they have many, all of whom are highly recommended by other people I've met there. http://nbdiabetes.org/

Peter, I am glad you read my blogs about getting clean, it really hit home with me as well when I was writing them. I still need to write the last part. It is a subject you will not find a lot on Diabetic message boards but plays such a huge part of many twenty somethings life's. (alcohol)
