"Seems like the only way to know would be to do some 3am testing on those nights to see if you reach levels too far out of your recommended range."

Sleeping in?

Okay - so I'm at 33 weeks now and I already have a 3 year old. Most days of the week I go to bed around 11:30 and (take my last long-lasting Novolin shot then) then we get up around 8:30 or 9:00 and have breakfast and take my first shot of the day. So that's about 8 to 9 hours of sleep (yes, I do realise how awesomely lucky I am to have a kid who likes to sleep in!! ;) and my fasting numbers are about 90 to 110. Not bad. So here is my question - on the weekends my hubby is home and gets up with…See More

My Story

I found out that I had pre-diabetes about 3 years ago. It happend about six months before my wedding so I was losing weight anyway and it kinda went away. BUT after getting pregant I got gestational diabtes and that stunk. I did really well though and my spunky little girl is healthy and happy! But with the stress of having a new baby, and moving to a new house, I'm now about 75 pounds overweight and need to get it off! :)

UPDATE: I am now a type 2 diabetic - but I am using Metformin, diet and exercise to get my levels down and get this thing under control!
UPDATE: My daughter is now 5 and my son is 2. I need to lose about 76 pounds (and I'm already down 10 pounds toward that goal!) Sugars got crazy high fast for some weird reason, and now we are trying to cut potatoes, rice, pasta and bread out of our diet as much as possible. Numbers are MUCH better on that eating plan!

Lazy Saturday! :)

Oh man - it was so nice to sleep in this morning! I tell you, one thing about working really long and hard during the week to the point of wanting to fall over is that when you sleep you SLEEP LIKE A ROCK!!! Thats not super great on weekdays because it makes it hard to get up - but on weekends when you can sleep in some it's really nice. Thank goodness we have probably the only baby in the world that likes to sleep in! Even if she does get up, we can bring her in bed with us and she goes back… Continue

Ok - I know that I haven't been on here in a while. We recently decided to start carpooling from out in Cocoa to Orlando everyday and it's a LONG time in the car for me. We get up at 5, get home by 7:30, and are in bed by 10:00 usually. I makes for some pretty long days!

Anyway, I had scheduled a doc apt for Terry and I to get our sugars checked, but I forgot to go in and pick up the new patient paperwork ahead of time so we lost our spot! Totallly…

Get your daughters stomach flu! Whoopie-doo!

Yeah, I managed to lose 5 pounds in one day. Not the fun way though! I feel better today though, thank goodness, and so does she. So I'm going to make myself feel better and pretend that I actually lost those 5 pounds, even though now that I've drank some water its probably all back again. :)

Terry's staying home with Harper today because she's still a little cranky and we…

Getting home from work is a killer!

You know what's weird? I know EXACTLY when my downfall time of the day is.

I left for home last night at 4:45 with the full intention of picking up Harper, going home, and taking a walk with her. But somewhere between that time and getting home at 6:30 (yes, its a long commute when I have to go through a traffic heavy part of town to pick her up) my mind shuts off and my stomach takes over.

I got home and was starving,…

I've been trying to be so good about walking at lunch time - but man! It's like a 100 degrees out there!

I was smart enough to bring a different shirt to work so I could change after I got all stinky and sweaty. It's nice to walk in the parks - everyone is happy and nobody pays any attention to you. Even though its a nice walk during lunch, it's not much of a workout. I'm going to ATTEMPT to take a walk with Harper and our 'new' jogging stroller in…
