"Dave, the same could be said about people bashing Medtroninc (or Dex) for the presumed inaccuracy for the their CGM, or specific infusion set, etc. Folks just have no concept that everyone's body is different and no one device is going to work…"
"To continue this brief digression from the main topic ...
Yeah. If you use Google to search for images matching "flimsy" or "easily broken" you might find a pic of that holster. ;-)
I assume you are talking about the…"
"If you read my previous comment Dave, it seems that we are in total agreement on this. The right attitude goes a long way and blame never helps anyone.
Also, sorry for not realizing the date on the thread Since it got replied to I just assumed that…"
"Well, this is a pretty old thread, so my 2cents is pretty meaningless at this point, but I just had to chime in.
I am 100% opposed to the attitude of the original poster here. What sort of entitled mentality are we fostering in this society of ours…"
"I agree completely and have nothing but positive remarks about both the Dexcom product and their outstanding customer service and responsiveness. When I no longer wish to continue to read a thread there is an option in the email that says : to stop…"
"Thank you for reposting that remark on how he can fix his problem. I do not like how this thread has gone. All of the negativity. Especially the title of one person and the sour remarks that were probably started when he was not in control of his…"
"It is funny really that Clare provided the succinct solution way up front in this thread. tallygear.com. I went there and there is a perfect G4 cover with a carabiner attachment option. Not sure if the carabiner is included but would be easy to buy.…"
"That's a REAL bummer. I hope that's an unusual failure. I haven't come across it yet, but I have been thinking about hand making a leather case for mine. Its almost three years old and I haven't had any failures yet, which is…"
"Sorry you have had a problem. I find Dexcom a wonderful company. If I have a problem they take care of it. I use a case not made by them. Just picked it up at the local mall at an outside vendor. You can get one with a lanyard. I suggest getting…"
"I periodically check my pump and CGM (just touching it) to make sure it's still securte and/or in my pocket. I prefer to wear both in my pocket to reduce the risk of the cases/clips falling off. If I was doing a job that had a lot of movement…"
I'm sending you this message because I see you listed as living in the Bay Area.. I'm planning on starting a Diabetes Support Group which will be open to all Types, all ages. The purpose will be to create a safe place to share the feelings, thoughts, hopes and fears we all go through as well as share insight and strength for managing our diabetes. It will be in an informal setting in Berkeley and the fee nominal.
My qualifications for facilitating this group are that I am a retired Counselor with over 25 years experience doing groups. I just returned from living for two years in Guatemala and currently teach Psychology online for a Community College.
Perhaps even more important I was misdiagnosed as Type 2 diabetic two years ago; did fine on oral meds for awhile and then my numbers started to climb. After a lot of research and a lot of talking to others I realized I was LADA/1.5 and am now stable on a basal/bolus insulin regimen. Through this experience I went through the anxiety, fear and sense of being overwhelmed by diabetes. Today I live with this disease on a daily basis with both full recognition of how it affects everything in my life and a commitment to living a full rich life outside of Diabetes.
Please contact me here or at email@example.com if you are interested in participating in a support group.
We noticed you mention something about the need to enter the zip code during the registration process. Basically, this is only required IF you live in the US. If you choose any other country, this is not an option available. If you choose US as your country, a field opens up directly below the Country field, that prompts you for the zip code.
Can you explain to me what you mean about the issue you describe about the image? I don't understand well, but once I do, I will look into it to see what can be done about it.
Thanks so much, and I hope you find ALL the support and information you came here for.
