"Well I have to differ here...no problems with the G4 and I've never had either the 7 or the 4 break. My 7 was wildly inaccurate and I love how accurate my new G4 is. Except for one thing and that is that I am unable to download my receiver. The…"

"Well I guess I'm no longer in a hurry to get the new sensors then. Wish I had known this sooner, I just got a new OmniPod PDM in anticipation of getting the new system. Maybe I should have got the MiniMed instead."

"Sue, In comparison, I prefer the SevenPlus, honestly. With the G4 I've yet to make it more than 4 days into a sensor without needing to tape it into place. The transmitter size contributes to this, what with its being higher and heavier. Now I…"

"Ray, Sorry to hear that. My G4 is still in the box because I have two more of the Seven Plus sensors to use. My Seven Plus receiver has been extremely reliable for over three years. Have you called Dexcom yet? Hopefully a new G4 is on its way to you."

Dexcom G4 failure/breakage/stopping?

Took my G4 out of my pocket a bit ago to see what the oracle would say, and found the unit very warm, and altogether unresponsive.Went to plug it in, to see if I could get any response, and found that the female micro-USB port in the receiver is no longer fixed in position, but moving- shifting inside the case (i.e. its broken loose).Last had it on the charger the night before last; no marking or indications that something had impacted the case, etc... just broken, internally.Had last looked at…See More

Hi Radius:

I'm sending you this message because I see you listed as living in the Bay Area.. I'm planning on starting a Diabetes Support Group which will be open to all Types, all ages. The purpose will be to create a safe place to share the feelings, thoughts, hopes and fears we all go through as well as share insight and strength for managing our diabetes. It will be in an informal setting in Berkeley and the fee nominal.

My qualifications for facilitating this group are that I am a retired Counselor with over 25 years experience doing groups. I just returned from living for two years in Guatemala and currently teach Psychology online for a Community College.

Perhaps even more important I was misdiagnosed as Type 2 diabetic two years ago; did fine on oral meds for awhile and then my numbers started to climb. After a lot of research and a lot of talking to others I realized I was LADA/1.5 and am now stable on a basal/bolus insulin regimen. Through this experience I went through the anxiety, fear and sense of being overwhelmed by diabetes. Today I live with this disease on a daily basis with both full recognition of how it affects everything in my life and a commitment to living a full rich life outside of Diabetes.

Please contact me here or at zoelula@hotmail.com if you are interested in participating in a support group.

Hello, Radius!
Welcome to the TuDiabetes family.

We noticed you mention something about the need to enter the zip code during the registration process. Basically, this is only required IF you live in the US. If you choose any other country, this is not an option available. If you choose US as your country, a field opens up directly below the Country field, that prompts you for the zip code.

Can you explain to me what you mean about the issue you describe about the image? I don't understand well, but once I do, I will look into it to see what can be done about it.

Thanks so much, and I hope you find ALL the support and information you came here for.
