I love my Omnipod. I wear it around my waist mostly. It is not really that noticeable. Most people will never know unless you tell them. :0)

For the people who have moved to the omni pod pump.... can you give me you pro and con's? I think I would love it ; but my main concern is that I am very self conscious, and think that it would be much more noticeable than my current insulin pump ...

Sometimes it seems like diabetes is 10% of the problem and dealing with incorrect medical bills is 90% of the problem once we have reached an age where we pay our own bills. For awhile I had 2 insurances. You would not believe the billing errors w...

I hear you, Sarah. I have been trying to clear up a bill I don't owe for a box of infusion sets I never ordered and returned. Still calling weekly and asking for an update 7 months later and still receiving invoices. I'm with Omnipod now and shoul...

Hi! Just trying to let people from TN Diabetics know that I am wanting to have some sort of gathering/picnic/get together. It would probably be in the mid-state area. If you think you might be interested, let me know. If I get enough good feedback I will set a date/time/place.

Hi Regge,

I wanted to say hi. I was reading the blog and wound up clicking on you. I grew up in Erin Tennessee. 2 of my kids live in Dickson with their mom and one lives here with me in NC. Clarksville was where we went to the movies and all as kids. I guess they still do, small town small world. Kudos on your profile here. It is good to see people that live their life no matter what.

1st job assignment...

Anybody remember what it was like to be an eighth grader and walk into a classroom and see a substitute teacher? I am subbing for an 8th grade reading teacher today.
I figure my job will be like that of an EMT...after work I will have plenty of stories to tell!

1st job in over a decade!

I am going back into the workforce this next week. I haven't had a job in a REALLY long time. Not because I couldn't find one but because it wasn't necessary. I had children and I stayed home with them up until now. So, I passed my background check w/fingerprints and my application and references went through just fine. I will be substitute teaching in the school system. I had orientation today and now I am just waiting for my information to be processed through the mainframe so I can access the… Continue

Goodbye...

Tuesday I should have gotten to my dr's appt to pick up my medical records but I didn't. I am so emotional over the situation that I was not "gathered" enough to go. Wednesday was a different story. My sister came into town, and wrecked her car on the way too! (another story), so I thought today would be a good day to go to the office. So I did. I had my camera ready too and a good finger ready as well for one last A1c. He left this morning for good. :*( He was moving his practiceContinue

Stop and go...Stop and go...Stop and go...

Have you ever been in the passenger seat of a driver who you are unsure of their abilities of driving? My dad is a stop and go driver. Meaning you do stomach crunches with your seat belt on unless your seat belt gets smart and stops you before your face hits the dashboard. Do you get the picture, yet? Well, I feel like this is a good mental grasp of my diabetes for the past 10 days. I am driving along on the road of life....and it is almost lunch time, slow down fast b/c you haveContinue
