My life on meds with pain..oh, and DIABETES

Posted on April 15, 2009 at 6:05am 6 Comments

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in early 2008. I did not believe this diagnosis at first and I sought out several "second opinions" before I believed it to be true. I am still dealing with this conclusion.

In 2005 I was diagnosed with LADA, a form of Type 1 diabetes, from which I have developed neuropathy in the backs of my calves. I have recently started having burning and stiffness in my hands, which is causing me a lot of anxiety and concern. I hate being in pain.

I have the fibromyalgia, the gastroparesis and neuropathy, I was on a pain patch but after 2 years it made me vomit all the time, and I fell asleep about 2 pm in the afternoon, it was awful and not to mention it started to mess with my mind... (it was low dose morphine) I couldn't live like that on that medication.
With God's help, I went on a 40 day fast from the medication, and have not been on anything sense..for pain...but with the weather change recently, all of a sudden I am in so much pain all over.
At one point I tried the lyrica, it was awful made me feel worse depressed and never took away the pain.
I never tried Cymbalta, although my Dr. prescribed it...my insurance wouldn't pay for it.
I have tried so many things and nothing seems to work.

I am hoping I can try the Savella...

The gastroparesis and neuropathy is affecting my quality of life.
I feel like giving up right now because of the pain...but I know I can't, I have too many people depending on me.
.
Like the song, "and the Beat goes on"..
The fight goes on.. :)

I just need a good nights sleep for 3 days straight and I know my body will deal with the pain--

Thanks Rebecca
