Does Edgepark work in all states? I am having the same frustrations with Dexcom not being an in state provider, which is a 10% difference in my coverage. Also, my insurance keeps saying that the code Dexcom uses is not for durable medical equipmen...

So I actually left work a bit early and got a test done at 4:50pm. The last calibration before that was at 11:13pm the night before. At 4:50 today the Dex was reading 132 and my glucose meter read 120. Not bad for 16.5 hours without calibration!

My experience is that it will hold pretty steady for about 6 hours after it starts demanding a BG, sometimes more. You should be OK till you get home but the dex may be off by 30 to 50 points from your actual BG. Usually it will tell you you are 1...

Hi everyone, So I'm special and managed to forget my test strips when left the house this morning. Of course my Dex was supposed to be calibrated around 11AM. It's still reading for me but keeps popping up the "enter BG" message every half hour o...

I'm driving up to Massachusetts tonight to visit at my parents house! We usually head up to southern Maine for Thanksgiving itself to spend it with aunts/uncles/cousins/etc.!

I think the Omnipod's auto insert is probably my favorite feature of my pump too. :) I know in theory (and practice) that it's better to do it fast, I just haven't gotten up the courage yet. I keep thinking, maybe next time...

What's this? A Blog?

So I'm giving into social pressure and attempting to start a blog based on my life experiences, particularly those involving my diabetes. There are tons of blogs out there written by people more eloquent, educated, and experienced than I but at the recent Children with Diabetes Friends For Life Conference that I went to a number of parents I met asked me if I had a blog. I apparently put my experiences into words well. Who knew? At first I dismissed the idea as I don't particularly enjoy writing… Continue

Yes Rebecca....I am sending the older model back. They are supposed to send me a label for shipping. I hasn't come yet. The New PDM came today. I didn't get the new model because the place that sent it didn't have the new model when they sent it out.
It took a bit of "mouth work" but I got the new one. :-)

Hi Rebecca. Glad you like the Omnipod. I would love to hear more about the retreat and conference. That sounds exciting. So true about the traffic in Paoli. I try to avoid it especially at lunch and rush hour. Have a good evening!

Hi Rebecca! How are things in Paoli? Traffic was really bad in Wayne today. I have no idea what was going on. Have you been on the Omnipod for a while?

Hi Rebecca! I reduced my basal rate starting at 10pm and got much better results. No lows at 2am.I still needed a correction bolus at 8:45 but I expected it because my meal was high in fat.I will do a bolus of 100% at 7pm of .20 for my apple pie. That number worked well but when I was falling at 2am I thought the bolus was the reason. I think I am getting back on track and it makes me feel so much better to know that I am back in control.
