Revvy, when my 4 year sentence was up with my 508MM, I was able to reapply for a newer model pump, the 515MM. My insurance company did not ask me to return the 508MM. So, I am living happily ever after with my 508 as my back up plan. If for some r...

not good....I generally support medtronic, but it does sound like they have a higher than should be expected rate of pump failures. I'm on pump number 2 after a failure. That doesn;t seem right.

Revvy, If I may ask...What is your back up plan when your pump "spaz's out?" Do you have Lantus, another pump or take Novolog every two hours until your new pump arrives? I have owned two models of MM pumps, the 508 (which is my old work horse) a...

Another side of the PUMP coin : pumping with MM for over 8 years ...never, never had a pump problem to have to replace it . I have updated regularly ...presently the warrenty time is finito , however my 522 is working as it should . I did prepare ...

About me...

My life is a constant irrational display of irony and hypocrisy, wrapped up in a neat little anachronistic bundle. Yay!

okay, so Ive been diabetic type1 for about 6 years, and I've been dealing with it...switched insulin types a bunch of times, and I just started using the pump last august! Its good at times, bad at others....had a few "no delivery's" here and there.....but over all its made life alot easier. no more 6 shots a day or sneaking of into the bathroom to whip out a syringe.

but anyways!

Now a little about me! My bangs are blue. Yep, blue, I'm a provocative- extrovert with a introspective side and a tendency to dance in random places. Music is everything to me and probably the purest savior one can have besides the aesthetic pleasures of the world. I DJ my very own radio show " the EPIC show" --its metal/hardcore/the-good-stuff-yo-momma-never-let-you-hear![Thursdays 11pm-1am, streaming on WFNP.org] Music and art have helped me get through a lot of the stress, anxiety, etc that diabetes has given me.

Oh an did i mention im an artist? i absolutely am enamored with art. I paint, draw, and create tshirts(mostly for bands).

:)

Hey Revvy!
Thank you for responding to the blog. I'm waiting for a call back from the clinic. Hopefully they will give in.
Yes.. boy was I happy to lay next to him again lol. That's all I wanted was to be able to hold him again. With all of the IVs and EKG leads hooked up to me, it made it quite difficult.
I hate to see kids so young in the hospital. That's no fun that you had a stinky room though lol. Thank goodness, the lady next to me didnt stink lol. I probably would have been begging for them to switch me rooms lol.
Yea, I'm pretty new. I was just diagnosed in January. Thank you. Yea, I like it pretty well. I've been using the One Touch more often though, just because I have more of those test strips lol.
How are you doing with everything?
What part of Florida do you live in? I used to live in St. Petersburg. It is near Tampa. I miss it so much. I moved to Cincinnati in February. At first, I didnt like it, but I'm getting used to it. But Florida will always be my home =]
