Hello all, anyone have any experience with the HCG diet? How safe for TYPE 1's? I have several non D patients and one friend doing it and the results are amazing. It sounds close to Dr.Berstein BUT you either inject the HCG hormone or there are oral drops. My next endo appt is May 25th I will ask them then. Thanks in advance, Robin

Patricia said… - Hey Robin:) Glad you had a good visit w/ Doc...and I know what it is like, trying to get lower HgA1c while on shots. I too had to split my Lantus...much better...and then switched to pump:) I think you should try the pump...I bet you would really like it and w/ the CGMS...much better control. You could maybe ask Daniels for a trial on the pump...a week or so, and see yourself what you think. No...I do not have CGMS, only because I have such crappy insurance right now...I was downsized and then kept insurance by working on my grad degree/school insurance. I do have the transmitter for the MiniMed one...and will be getting a box to fine tune my pump rates...but, will not wear it continuously. From what I have heard...most people really like the DexCom and it is more accurate, works more continuously than the MM one. You will have to let me know what you think of it once you are up and running! so glad you are well and I am sure that the Hg will come right down w/ close monitoring:) I check BG like 12+ times a day when I am fine tuning...and BGs are always so much better. Really does require close monitoring and adjusting over time to keep tight. I just think all DBs should have coverage to cover the expense...in the long run, it SAVes so much money for companies and the govt. Well...must run:) Take care and keep in touch!
