Ron Doyle replied to Amy M's discussion 'Flying with G4' in the group Dexcom Users
"I always walk through the scanners after one time telling them I had an Insulin Pump. I have walked through with a Cozmore pump, Animas Ping and Omnipod with never an ill affect. I have not gone through with a G4 yet, so glad to hear that it…"

Ron Doyle replied to shelby76's discussion 'Awful customer service from Animas rep' in the group Animas Insulin Pump Users

Ron Doyle replied to E. Louise's discussion 'G4 Newbie Questions' in the group Dexcom Users
"I have been on the G4 for a little over two months. The first week I ran it for one week, then two plus. It will be for weeks tomorrow and all is well although I have had to use tape to hold it on after the first week or so. The numbers are still…"

Ron Doyle commented on Rob's group 'Dexcom Users'
"OK, Skin-Tac was OK, but this time I decided to try and go for a third and/or fourth week. It sort of started letting me down. Yesterday my wife was at Wal-Mart and saw Nexcare tape for about $3. After 24 hours on a 2+ week old sensor run...it is…"

Ron Doyle replied to Josh's discussion 'Meter Question' in the group Geeks With Diabetes
"My complaint with the Animas Ping is that I "should" be able to do everything from the remote that I can from the pump itself. Like the main one that bugs me is that I can create a temporary bolus on the pump, but not on the remote. I wear…"

Ron Doyle replied to Debbie's discussion 'New pump user question' in the group Animas Insulin Pump Users
"This may have already been answered but if you check your BG with the remote and want to use the EZ Carb Bolus you MUST use the remote, it doesn't not send the BG level from the remote to the pump...stupid in my opinion, but they didn't…"

Ron Doyle replied to bojibridge's discussion 'Quck question about calibration' in the group Dexcom Users
"I have been on the G4 for a little over a month. I had the same issue on the calibration. I would have it go higher or lower than either of the numbers at times. I called their support to ask if it was broken or not. They basically said that 1) it…"

Ron Doyle replied to Leata's discussion 'Using sensors for longer than a week? How to' in the group Dexcom Users
"I have only extended mine twice, since I am a new user, but it took mine a couple of minutes over 2 hours each time...hmmm. I don't know why. And yes, I was hyper as a new user I watch it like a boiling pot of water."

Ron Doyle commented on Rob's group 'Dexcom Users'

Hi Ron, hope you are doing good. Are you into research, if so, what kind of? Do you work in a University by any chance?

My name is Marie and I just read your comment about not being scared of all the bad stories It feels so good when I come across people like you who are not treating diabetes like it's a death sentence cause I have been a diabetic since 10 and I just turned 32 on Saturday and I am proud to say that I have always had that altitude where I have taken care of my diabetes and have had some bad numbers along the way but I am in excelent health and do not have any complications at this point , but if the day comes that something does happen I just hope that it's when I'm married cause at the moment I am a single mom of a 4 year old and my worst fear is that if I do ever get sick I'll be alone and have no one to help me

Ron,
That was funny ha ha!! How many toes are left ha ha!!! You are a morbidly funny person, my favorite type of humor. I've been type 1 for 51 years and I have all my toes too. We are nearly brothers ha ha!!!! I use the exchange system for diet, don't know know what counting carbs even means, inject pork insulin twice a day, have no complications, and the diabetic eye clinic told me not to come back 3 years ago. The kidney specialist also told me to get lost 2 years ago too. Told me I would have a stroke long before I ever had to go for dialysis because I smoke ha ha!!!!!!

How do you measure the work of volunteers?

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
