Run run run

Well I'm new here but have been enjoying perusing the site. I accepted Jamie, the Diabetic Runner's, challenge for 2008 by taking the 500 miles challenge. I'm a little behind since I didn't start my runs for this challenge until Feb. 18th! I actually have probably 6-10 miles from January but I didn't log those anywhere so I'm not counting them. I'm logging my miles through Nike+ and so far it's been fun to think about my running in terms of the challenge. I hope that other diabetic runners sign… Continue

Cait --- do you use a CGM, or are you testing while you run? I'm doing my 1st half in a month and am still trying to figure out the eating part of the equation. I don't stomach the gels too well. Gatorade and water are okay, but I don't like the feeling of having too much in my stomach when running. I'm working on it! :)

Cait, you cutie---I was thinking of you recently as I watched some lake sailing in Minnesota. How's your summer shaping up? Any big sailing trips coming up?.....Hope you are well.....Judith in Portland

Oh my, a schooner. I hope you'll post some pictures for us to enjoy. I and friends had romantical notions about sailing away in a schooner in my youth. The closest we came was checking out an old Delaware Rum Runner that was for sale. That was when I was living in Lambertville back in the late 60s/early 70s......

Welcome Root747! There is a grand slice of humanity here and I hope you find meaningful information and support.

What kind of sailing do you do? I grew up in the midwest and my brother has sailed in various ways all his life---from iceboats and summer lake sailing to dirt boating in the desert and then he built a solar car and raced it in the Outback of Australia which always seemed to me to be a different kind of sailing.

And my daughter's partner races a catamarran out of Santa Cruz.I've only been a passenger and casual crew. But there's nothing like it is there?!

Be well.....Judith in Portland
