"HI" is not a friendly greeting

My diabetes is a mess as am I a lot of the time because of it... but at least occasionally in the midst of being out of control I can choke back the fear that this chronic condition is going to get the better of me and I can poke some fun back at it. Maybe this is no laughing matter but I am past crying over my A1c levels and off chart liver enzyme tests...

I have a Bayer Contour meter right now (it seems like the preferred meter company gets juggled a lot with my substandard insurance) and

The pump funding battle

I have type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed when I was 10 years old. I have always struggled with my diabetes; it is a constant challenge to balance out the levels of insulin, food intake and exercise. For me I have become so frustrated because I am doing all of the things that should result in having reasonable glucose levels but all the work and energy I put into it isn’t working. Hi Rose! Sorry to hear about the frustrations with the pump payment. Any news on that? Did you try appealing the insurance decision? Mine did not want to pay at first either, but eventually did.

Rose - congratulations on the Ping!! It sounds like it was a massive amount of work to get it, but it's so worth it - it takes awhile to get the hang of pumping, but once you get your rates fine-tuned you'll be amazed at how great it is.

And on the other stuff (Avalon et al), I've definitely been in your situation and would be happy to talk and share my experience, or just to listen... :)

It's too bad you live on the other side of the country. We could compare our stresses! Incidentally, my photo was taken in Washington two years ago. We loved it and want to go back for another visit. Nice to "meet" you!
