I understand, Ryan. I was diagnosed this last year although I had diabetes when I was pregnant with my last two children but went away after birth. I found the most helpful was a diabetic class thru my hospital that is over the course of 6 months. I learned a lot of things i didn't know and wasn't eating right even though I thought I was. Wow, I think your a1c is one of the highest I have ever seen. I know at your age it is hard to be disciplined and eat right and live this strict lifestyle when you just want to be a kid and do things people do your age. My friend blows his really bad by going out drinking and then pays the price the next few days afterwards. Good luck! Judith53

hi Ryan, I'm sure your next a1c will be better. there are so many amazing people here, I hope you will find lots of info and support here. We get it here, and as Osob says, this is the place to come to vent if you have to. also we love to hear your stories of victory over the d monster. so come here to celebrate too!

I am Osob type 1 diabetic since the age of 2 I am now 25 years young lol,living life the best way I can with diabetes,saw you that you have no had it for long just wanted to offer some friendship because it can be lonely with diabetes esp if you dont know anyone else.
