Saffy replied to Kelly Collins's discussion 'More misinformation by the general public' in the group Oh! BABY!!!
"On that note...our first daughter was born at 34 weeks and weighed 6lb 3oz. So yes, we got the 'big diabetic baby' thing. The only issue with that presumption is that she's a month shy of 3 and is still running at the 97th percentile…"

Saffy replied to Kelly Collins's discussion 'More misinformation by the general public' in the group Oh! BABY!!!
"I'd be intrigued to know how that's a "typical diabetic growth pattern" - to my uneducated eye that would seem 'normal' and a sign of excellent bg control - please share once they've enlightened you :)"

Saffy replied to Kelly Collins's discussion 'More misinformation by the general public' in the group Oh! BABY!!!
"Hi Kelly, I said the same thing as you to others sometimes - that I wished that it'd be going away after the baby arrived!!! I'm afraid that I got a a bit sick of trying to educate the masses about preexisting diabetes and pregnancy so…"

Saffy replied to kestrel's discussion 'express colostrum before birth?' in the group Oh! BABY!!!
"Hi there, I'm a month post doing just this :) I'm also a T1 and it was recommended to me by a couple of LCs. My OB was less keen and made me be on a CTG machine for the first couple of goes just to make sure it didn't set contractions…"

Hi Saffy

Thanks so much for replying to my discussion. I've never met anyone else who has the allergies to the cannulas. How are you coping? Have you found a different pump that works for you? I was on the Minimed when I had the allergies to it. But I just tried out the OmniPod and I'm wondering if maybe that one will work?

And the resistance? My Endo talked about putting me on Metformin two weeks ago (I suggested it) but when I talked to him on the phone yesterday (he left me a voicemail) he said that I couldn't go on it as a type 1. I think he's an idiot.
