If the meter was black and about 3" x3" it was a Medisense ExacTech. The strips came with a sheets wrapped in foil. You had to tier them apart and open the strip package.

About Me

Hi, I'm Sam and I'm an archaeologist. Well, I say archaeologist but the recession has kind of put paid to that. Therefore I am stuck in retail and really not liking it. Lack of hours and lack of money aren't a brilliant combination.

I am also a Type 1 diabetic.

I was diagnosed at the age of 8 on 14th February 1996.

I rebelled whilst at college and University with an HBa1C off the charts.

I decided to sort myself out. Now have an HBA1C of 6.5%. Unfortunately I've just been told that due to my huge rebellion I am suffering a form of transient nueropathy. It's not bad, just irritating and most days doesn't bother me at all. The GP says it will go away soon, if I keep my levels good.

I also keeo a blog at http://talkingbloodglucose.blogspot.com so please feel free to come over and say hello!
