I would stick with what your doing. So long as your not feeling fatigued your fine till you read the book and do more research.
In the first few weeks of low carbing your body goes through a metabolic change and figures out how to survive on fat/protein instead of (glucose from) carbs. In that case, one would need more protein to be able to handle the loss of glucose from carbs. Otherwise, yes, high fat, medium protein, low carb is the ticket.
Presently my diet is about 45-50% fat, 15% carbs, and 35-40% protein. This is a comparison with what that calculator says:

onesaint said… Ah, here to supplement what I said earlier, I used this calculator a lot to figure out what I was eating and what to eat when I first started eating low carb. It's from that same site.
onesaint said… Happy to! This place is pretty fantastic for information and support. If your checking out the Bernstein stuff, have a look atthis site as well. Shes a TuD member and the site is very informative. I've been eating low carb for a little over a year and a half and in all my 26 years with D, I haven't ever had as good control as I do now. Be well. =^)
