Leaving for vacation on July 3rd to Branson Mo.

Well this is it this will be our first Full fledged family vacation. Prior to dx we felt the boys were just to young to really enjoy a vacation so we had never been after dx DH and I could never get vacation at the same time. Now finally we're doing it!!!! Introduction

My son Jared DOB 6/17/99 was dx December 2004 with type 1 diabetes. He currently takes Lantus 2x daily and Novalog 3-5 times daily. His A1c was high in May (8.7) due to back to back sinus infections and strep throat. When my son was dx I had just graduated from nursing school exactly 1 week prior. I noticed him urinating and drinking alot. Dr thought it was probably just a UTI and wasn't going to do blood work but I insisted , my gut told me it was D , I have never wanted to be wronContinue

Hi Stacy,

thanks for the invite. We're still tentative on trips with the girls so hopefully reading up on your experience will give us strength. Also doing diabetes sleepover camp with my 8yr old next week so that will be the start of a great tradition and a well deserved break for mom.
