Fortuantely BCBS in my state does, and my insurance is out of BCBS in TX so the Omnipod folks used a loophole law to force BCBS to provide pumps for me due to BCBS coverage in my state. Holy PDM Batman!
I would just like to take a sec to vent. We have been on the Omnipod for about a year and a half now. My son is 12 so most of the work is on me, which is fine that is my job but ooooooh my! We have been thru 3 PDM's and that crazy sticky key alarm goes off in class all the time and makes my son so embarrassed. Plus the many dud pods. I know the insulet hold music by heart!!!!!! Diabetes, depression and zoloft
Today my son was diagnosed with depression. His dad and grandpa are both on antidepressants so we know it is genetic. He is 12 and we have had type 1 for 2 and a half years. I am really scared to start this medication. On the paperwork it says DO NOT give this medication to children under the age of 18. Of course I have an appointment to talk with his endo tomorrow but always get way better advice here than anywhere else.
