Does any one have a kid that is using the omni pod? We are looking at it for my son but I am not sure how it works and my son is right in the middle of puberty so I am not even sure we should get a…Continue
"Humana in Texas does. I had to fight to get it covered because when I joined my wife's policy they claimed my out of warranty Medtronic pump was just fine, but they do list OmniPod as one of the pumps they allow.
If you go to this page on…"
"Blue Cross Blue Shield in TX does not. Fortuantely BCBS in my state does, and my insurance is out of BCBS in TX so the Omnipod folks used a loophole law to force BCBS to provide pumps for me due to BCBS coverage in my state. Gotta love insurance!…"
"Thanks Hilary! The main thing I like about the pods are he gets a basal every hour and we dont have to carry insulin on a short trip to the store! I can't even think about college...AHHHH! Good luck to your son as well!"

Of course I have an appointment to talk with his endo tomorrow but always get way better advice here than anywhere else.
