Hi Sean, I just wanted to let you know that the Glucosurfer has a new feature: you can upload your Medtronic pump files. This is very convenient since you have to operate the pump only. Furthermore you can share your data if you seek help from the community.

Happy new year and happy pumping, Holger

I've heard so many great things about the pump. It really does seem like a huge advance. There are a lot of pumpers on here, so I'm sure they will be able to help with any questions you have. I'm using the pens. I'm in Grahamstown.

Hi Sean! I'm glad to see another South African here. I see you were diagnosed in '91 - I was only diagnosed this year. I'm sure I can learn a lot from you.

Hi Sean, thanks for adding me as a friend. I have created a group called Glucosurfer.org users for general questions and support.

The greatest challenge for new pumpers is to find the correct basal rate for the pump. If you want to let our community participate in your progress you can use our project Glucosurfer.org. It provides a free online diary that you can manage via web or mobile phone.

I would recomment to log the first weeks there and to post the link to your diary in your next discussion (here is an example how this will look like).

With all the feedback from the community it is very likely that you will find the correct basal rate setting very soon.
