Hey Sean! Actually there is a pump holder for your leg/thigh. I have one that I bought through Minimed but I found a site recently looking for something else for my pump that has what you're looking for that should work with yours. http://www.diabetesandmore.com/Insulin-Pump-Holders-C86.aspx. Looks like they have a couple of them on there that should work for you!

Your question regarding running high immediately after you eat would be normal to some extent. How many carbs are you normally eating per meal? You should test 2 hours after the meal rather then immediately after to get a good sense to how well your rates are working for you. How soon are you testing after a meal normally? I haven't played with my basal rates much myself other then to lower mine slightly from 1 to .85. However, some people find that they run high/low during certain times of day(for whatever reasons) and adjust their rates based on those trends. I normally only use temp basals when I do something like exercise to avoid going too low. You may want to consider even putting a post up on the forum discussion here asking about people who do use several basal rates on their insulin pumps during the day. But since you're new to pumping I would take one thing at a time. Make any changes if needed gradually especially while your body is adjusting to being on a pump! Just be patient. :) If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Changing the insulin to carb ratio will probably help like you said or maybe your basal rate needs adjusting? It does take a bit of tweaking in the beginning! I know some people have different rates for different times of days etc. I'm not one of those people though. Mine is same all day and seems to work good for me but everyone is different! Your comment about feeling like a dork with a beeper made me laugh. ;) I know what you mean though. But there are several things out like invisapump that make it more discreet that you may want to look into so you don't have to wear it on the outside. Check out: http://www.invisapump.com/ I actually just got one a couple weeks ago but only used it once so far but seems good. It may work well for you. That's awesome about your new teaching position in Korea. I'm sure that will be interesting for you! That's going to be a big change! What made you decide to pursue that?
