"Hi Debbie, I have the same problem. I found that injecting symlin first and then my Apidra(mealtime insulin) 60 minutes later seems to cover that post 2hour spike. Since symlin slows digestion it seems to effect the BG levels at a slower rate,…"

"Hi Andrea, I have the same problem too. My numbers start to stabilize after 3-4 hours. It's very frustrating:) Are you cutting back on your bolus when you take your symlin? I've heard that some people have to reduce their dose by 20-50%."

LADA on Symlin????

Posted on May 31, 2009 at 7:47am 1 Comment

I wanted to see if there is anyone out there who is has LADA and is taking symlin?? My specialist has stated that I am still in my "honeymoon' phase (sorry .....but this isn't exactly how I pictured my honeymoon.....oh well:) My fastings are still under a 100mg/dl but I'm having a bit of a problem with my post-prandials. I'm just curious if anyone has had any success with using symlin(without a mealtime insulin).
