It's misleading & incorrect to state you're eating 15 carbs a day or less when you're not. Depending on the carb count for the mushrooms, salsa & onions in your breakfast, you're probably eating around 15 carbs for breakfast alone. Carbs are carb...

When I refer to carbs, they are strait carbs, not complex ones. The kind of carbs I refer to that I don't eat are things like breads, crackers, or even sugars. I just stick to the eggs, meat, veggies and cheeses. The things I do eat are mainly pro...

I meant 15 carbs per day exactly. As I said, I eat mostly veggies, meat of all kinds, cheese and creams (NO MILK...Lactose being a sugar). The only carbs I eat are mainly peanuts in the shell or other kinds of nuts. Often, I don't even eat 15 carb...

Steve, You're talking about 15 carbs per meal, right? From a previous discussion when you said 15 carbs, it sounded like you meant 15 carbs per day. Breakfast: Nut/seed granola w/ almond milk, or 2 eggs & small portion of leftover dinner veggies...

Dan, I was diagnosed back on May 9, 2009. My BS reading was at 267 and A1c was 11. I immediately started on a very low carb diet, 15 grams or less per day. My BS came down from 267 to between 90 and 115 in less than 10 days. After just 6 months, ...

Cathy, You've got it right. Carbs are carbs:) 15 carbs per day is what Steve eats. I follow Dr. Bernstein's recommendation & eat between 30-35 a day. Many people do better not following the ADA guidelines of 45-60 carbs per meals & 15 carb snacks.

oops..I meant to say that I gained it back when I quit smoking. I'm glad I quit smoking when I did...not that I'm glad I quit low carbbing.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your comment. I believe you. I've always been bewildered when I've looked at meals dieticians have put together! My sister has been hospitalized many times because of her diabetes and when she tells me what they brought for her to eat I always ask, "Do they have a clue why you are there?"
I'm a veteran low carber and am good at it. I'm going back to induction tomorrow! :) What a relief! I was only worried that there was something *different* about being diabetic so I couldn't low carb anymore! Thanks!! :)
I gained back the weight I lost when I first low carbed. Thank God I quit when I did though because the stress of that would kill me now!
