"If you have a hard time separating work and home, maybe getting out and about can help you separate from both? I totally use exercising as escapism from my stressful job and, sometimes, the surly teenager who, often is very hopeful that "are…"

"Thanks guys. My biggest thing is to stay focused and I should be good. I had a realization a few days ago that I don't have a separation between work and home and that is a big issue for me. If I can create that separation then things should…"

"Getting active is *very* hard. The first step is the hardest one. This goes for people with or without diabetes but I think it can be more challenging for us, given that you have to lug all of the crap, meters, snacks, etc. along for the ride, or…"

This is hard.

I haven't been out on this site in some time. Not really sure why although I know it has nothing to do with this site but has everything to do with me. I popped back in today and noticed my last blog entry where I said I was going to be better and more active, well that didn't pan out the way I thought it would.I've been bad over the last year about my diabetes and guess I sort of went into a form of denial. I really didn't deny I had it but I ignored I had it and in a way I was denying that I…See More

Hiatus

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 8:47pm 0 Comments

I'm back after a long hiatus from my blog. I haven't been so good with this one (or any of my others come to think of it.) but I'm going to try and be more focused. I got distracted by the whole blog thing, I wanted a personal blog, a tech blog, a blog for my hobbies, a blog because the sky is blue, blah, blah, blah. It got to be overwhelming and I just couldn't manage them. I also had an issue finding the right medium for them. Host my own, use WordPress, or Thingamablog, it was a mess. I…

New meter, not sure I trust it.

Posted on February 9, 2010 at 7:39pm 4 Comments

I picked up a new meter recently. In the past I was using the OneTouch Ultra, it's a good meter, treated me well and is still good. But being the gadget freak I am I found the Bayer Contour USB meter to be just the cat's meow. How cool can it get, a meter just a little larger than your average USB memory stick and contains all the software and 512MB of storage that you just plug into a USB slot on your PC.

Sounds cool, I know, but whats the problem?

As I started to use the… Continue

I had a seizure

Posted on April 20, 2009 at 5:16pm 9 Comments

Today I had something strange and kind of scary happen. I had a seizure. I've never had one before and my family doesn't have a history of them so this was truly uncharted territory for me.

The overall time frame of this event was about 20 minutes. Luckily I am able to remember most of it. I'm going to give as detailed of description of the events and what I was feeling and thinking for a couple of reasons. One, to help chronicle it for the future and two, to possibly help anyone… Continue

This is an interesting article. I haven't read all the way through it yet as I'm getting ready to head to work.

Maybe we should talk and decide what to do. Most of what you said made some sense to me, but I am sure I don't get the whole undercurrent of everything. Make me your friend if you want and I will send you my number.

Did you see the message I entered right after your last one? Does this sound like it's working properly or do I still have to do what you suggest? Take a gander at it and let me know.
