Sticks replied to Mom 2 Kyle's discussion 'WHEN is basal insulin delivered?' in the group OmniPod Users
"Hi the basal rate is delivered slow release so over the hour rather than a one-off delivery. Don't panic about when you have to change a pod, it should only take a few minutes so you won't miss much insulin at all. One thing you will have…"

Sticks replied to Tracy's discussion 'Are there any T1 happy with Omnipod?' in the group OmniPod Users

Sticks replied to shaunmcevoy's discussion 'when are the new omni pods and PDM coming out for the UK,london ?' in the group OmniPod Users
"Hi Shaun. I started on the Omnipod in Sept last year, and Ypsomed automatically upgraded me to the smaller pods and new PDM just before Christmas. Might be worth checking with them why they didn't just send it out to you?"

Sticks replied to rubidoux's discussion 'how do you feel about wearing your pod where it can be seen?' in the group OmniPod Users

Sticks replied to barend's discussion 'Not happy with the new PDM' in the group OmniPod Users

Sticks replied to barend's discussion 'Not happy with the new PDM' in the group OmniPod Users
"It doesn't cause me any issues. Without turning the PDM on, I insert a Freestyle test strip. The PDM comes on, asks me to confirm my ID, and then it carries on with the usual blood test routine (i.e. shows the code of the strips and then asks…"

Welcome to the family!! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of what you will learn is that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and vent to, if needed.
