For those who've had Type 1 diabetes for a long time. I don't really care how long. Just long.

Hi, I've been type 1 since being diagnosed at age 5 in 1972. I'm still in pretty good health -- fighting the battle of the bulge (like anyone else!) and have had a bit of lazer on my eyes due to diabetic retinopathy. I joined this site as it's the best one I've seen, and I run a website myself selling kitbags for people with diabetes. I don't want to just use my membership of this site to promote my kitbags, but I designed them for myself but knew if I needed to keep my kit safe then other people with diabetes needed to as well. You know what it's like -- can't find your blood test sensors, or you've run out of insulin. It's not like the world slows down because we have diabetes -- it's hard to keep up with "normal" life let alone keep on top of endless blood tests and injections. Look up thekitbagcompany.com and see if you like what you see.

Hi Sue,
I just added you as a friend...seems we have a bit in common (guess we all do on this site, huh?), but like you i've been a type 1 for lots of years...for me it's nearly 45, but like you I have minimal complications and, like you I'm trying to shed those extra pounds. Seems almost hopeless some days.

Anyway, I'm really interested in your kitbags, but your website isn't working so, in case you weren't aware of it, i wanted you to know. Hope everything is okay. Let me hear from you!!

HI Roshan, thanks for the comments. You do the same as I do -- roll-up for day-today pump gear, and a Classic for back up. You're the first person I know to use the kitbags as a flirting accessory as well as a lifestyle accessory. Good for you!

Hello everyone -- this is a great site. I've seen many, but not really wanted to take part. Thanks to all of those who have added me as a friend. I live in the UK, and there's nothing like this here! Just so you know, I have designed kitbags for people with diabetes -- we all need to carry all that kit around with us don't we! Finger-pricker this, spare needles that. You know what I mean. take a look at www.thekitbagcompany.com and use tudiabetes01 as the promo code at checkout and you'll get 10% off.
