"Just make sure you look at the expiration dates on them -- they expire because the internal batteries last only 3 years. If you don't hear the double beep when priming, the battery is dead."

Thanks Susan for replying. I sure hope with time we'll even out her numbers! It's great to hear that you have good control on will.

Hi Susan, My daughter Syeda just turned 4yrs. old today. Yes it's her birthday. She was diagnosed back in January of this year. I'm assuming your son is 4 yrs old as well by now? So I feel we'll be of great help to one another. You may be more as your son was dianosed earlier. We too are in the paper work phase of the Animas Ping Pump. Mainly because her numbers are too high (255mg) on average. I've been reading alot of good comments on the OmniPod and Ping pump. Has Will taken a liking to it? What do you do about site changes, as far as pain goes. Syeda is currently taking 6 units NPH, 1/2 unit of Apidra (if she's between 100-200mg) more if higher (which she tends to be) in the mourning and 1 unit of Lantus, 1/2 of Apidra (same range as above) in the evening. Syeda tends to be HIGH mojority of the times. So I'm often trying to correct her. The thing is it's tricky tryin to not over do it because of the other insulins in her system. So we get alot of lows as well. We constantley get numbers in the 300's sometimes higher, like 400-575mg for the highs. For the lows any where from 22-75mg. Her target range should be between 100-200mg. Compared to alot of daibectics on this site her numbers sound scary, really roller coasterish! Tell me when/while the're eating before the 2 hour wait, is it normal for Syeda to be so high like in the 400-500's? I thought that was why you give them the Apidra/Humalog?

So sorry I missed your birthday. You weren't on the list of "tomorrow's birthdays" when I did my dirty deed last night!!! Hope you had a wonderful, wonderful day anyway.

Hi Susan- Hope you and Will are doing good. Avery is doing really good. We are going to start pumping soon. Should be within the month. I'm hoping things get better for him. I just want the best for him. I just wanted to say hi and see how things were going for you.
