Hello SUSAN, you have made my day, since I ama computer rookie, at 91 have found out how little I know and much I have to learn. As a member of this website,I have found a way to mentor to those in areas with little information about diabetes.I was clinically dead,in 1977 in Boston ,with BG of 880, since then with my second chance have been a ROLE MODEL to over 40,000 diabetics., Check out www.restorethebantinghomestead.com, and see why on JULY 30 INSULIN APPRECIATION DAY, i will be asking insulin-users, worldwide,to call 5 DIABETICS and ask them to join with me, in silence, and say THANKS FOR INSULIN, giving hundreds of millions of US a chance to live healthy and productive lives TODAY. AMIGOS will be selling BLUE ROSES to support the homestead. My first meeting with the BANTING HOMESTEAD was in 1978 when I was entering the grounds could feel the hairs rising on my neck because I realize I was on the property of the person responsible for me being alive TODAY. The property 100 acres is going to be a camp for diabetic children. Could you share your experiences with living with diabetes since 1952, what stories you could tell and I know would be of importance to those having a hard time dealing with this silent killer. Anything you can share with me, II will share with others that need hope and inspiration. Have recieved a JOSLIN MEDAL for 50 years of living withinsulin? Contact your nearest LIONS CLUB, they have the bestdiabetes awareness program. clarence.haynes@sympatico.ca
