This is my son Braeden who is a Type 1 diabetic. He was diagnosed in August 2005 while we were on vacation in New Hampshire. The care we had at Hasbro Children's was good but they had said that the pump wouldn't be available until he was 7 or 8 years old. He was 3 at the time.
By January, we had made the move to Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston and by April he was on the pump.
Our team is Braeden's Hope and we will be walking on October 21 at Roger Williams to help raise money for JDRF.
My wife is also a type 1 diabetic who was diagnosed at 20 with Type 1.
