Its just a drag..

Have you ever had one of those days or had a moment where you just dreaded doing anything related to diabetes? Between school and diabetes i don't know which one is more stressful, and I'm at a stage where I'm still a little embarrassed about having to take shots at school and all. any advice?

Welcome to the best diabetes site for those who want to find out from students to seniors( I am 91 years, young, geezer, insulin-dependent since 1977.TORONTO where INSULIN was discovered by DRS.BANTING & BEST is an interesting city with over 120 cultures,CARIBANA, which attracts over 1 million every summer. I was the maitre'd of the world famous restauran THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD SOUL FOOD RESTAURANT. my advice to young people is 1 ask 2 listen 3 hang around POSITIVE people and as a new diabetic, learn that the person that knows most about their diabetes, will LIVE the LONGEST. DR.MARTIN LUTHER KING,JR said as long as you BELEIVE, you will ACHIEVE. Have a diabetic specialist, wear a MEDIC-ALERT bracelet and mke sure you have a DIABETIC BUDDY, someone, you are in contact DAILY.,that person could save your life. If is a good idea to start a small support group in your area, with an equal number of young adults and senior diabetics. it would be a win-win situation and a learning experience. A suggested slogan could be TOGETHER, WE WILL BEAT DIABETES. I am part of a small group called THE AMIGOS, our fund raising project is BLUE ROSE.
