2008 was indeed a great year for us. We smile as we look back at happy moments, victories and success no matter how small. We relish life and all its struggles. Let's forget the unpleasant times and thank the lord for giving us new mornings and better tomorrows. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Be Well.
I hope that you had a Beautiful Christmas and are doing Very Well especially with this up and down weather. I just read your interesting blogs. How is it going with the pump and CGMS? I wouldn't mind getting a CGMS if the sensors worked properly. That would be Great.

Hi Tracy - Vancouver is cool! I saw Pink Floyd there in 1994! Hard to beleive that was 14 years ago! I am a school counselor. Do you have those in your school system? What grade(s) and subject(s) do you teach?
My name is [your name] and I am helping to put together Cyclebetes 2009: the biggest relay in the world. It began with a promise that a father made to his 12 year old daughter. Vancouver businessman Kyle Balagno promised his daughter Taylor he would do everything in his power to help find a cure for her juvenile (type one) diabetes before her 18th birthday. He had 6 years. That commitment spawned Team H2V, a 5 man team who cycled across Canada at break neck speed in September 2007. They made the epic ride in just 8 days, set a Guinness World Record and raised one million dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The journey of Team H2V was remarkable and inspiring to all Canadians. The simple goal that fueled the team was the desire to do….something that hadn’t been done…..something big. Cyclebetes is the legacy of Team H2V - built on themes of community, responsibility, leadership and promise.
There are four components of Cyclebetes, one of which is the elementary Lap-a-thons where we are looking for teachers, across Canada, to help us by championing these lap-a-thons. They will take place between April – May 2009 The benefits of such an event are:
• Students get moving, active and healthy
• Students participate in a lap-a-thon relay on their school’s track or field
• Important values are instilled as students build the legacy and keep the Cyclebetes promise
• Socially responsible lessons (K – 7) are delivered online by outstanding Canadian mentors in fields of community, health, leadership and social responsibility.
• Schools receive the Cyclebetes Educator’s Guide & Tool Kit containing set up information, support material and the Legacy Builders (discussion starters and activities based on the founding principles).
• Students experience people working together and achieving the extraordinary…they become Champions.
The year our goal is to raise $3 million dollars for juvenile diabetes research and we would love it for you to be involved. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like more information.
