Are you comfortable turning the BG remoinder off? Maybe setting a cell alarm to test BS later? I find that is best and I set my cell to an annoying tone to wake me!

Well I think 1 hour is a little too early to test BS after bolusing for food, I usually do my test at 2 hours after eating, and then if I remember I do the 3 Hour test because that's when my sensitivity is set. I think the BS reminder is the same ...

Just so you know, there are prescription cough meds that can be prescribed for diabetics, I have never given insulin for them. Be careful if you bolus for cough med, the alcohol can drop your BS and if you have bolused you could be in trouble. Hop...

I worry about night time sugars all the time. The other night I must have had an air bubble. I went to sleep with a normal sugar and at 3:30 A.M. my sugar was 402. This is not the norm so my basals are adjusted properly. It made me so frusttrated ...

Well.....my technique didn't work out great for me. I had to do 2 correction boluses through the night. I dosed based on the # of carbs but did not give extra as I was also drinking wine and didn't want to go too low in the night. The pizza was a ...

This girl needs fries and a cheeseburger sometimes, too! I generally add an extra unit or so and give around 75% right away, with the rest spread out over anywhere from 60-120 minutes. It varies with certain foods, but in general, I spread it out ...

I'm sorry to hear you had a rough day! Give it some time. It will take a little tweeking in the beginning to get things right. I felt a little overwhelmed at first too because its learning something new to what you understood before. Change is hard sometimes but it will be a change for the better in the end! I know what you mean about lows too! They make me cranky too! ;) Hang in there!

I FEEL good.....

So, it is Saturday and I am at my part time job at a tanning salon which is my gas and prescription money. I also get free tanning. I know what you are going to say, new evidence links indoor UV exposure to cancer even more than smoking. I have heard that a few times this week, but hey I am probrably going to die from diabetes complications anyway.

Or am I?

On June 15th I began insulin pump therapy. I chose the Minimed Paradigm 722 because it came in purple and I saw the flyer in my endo's off… Continue

WTF

SO, I am having a serious WTF day.
I started on the pump ( mini-med Paradigm ) 6/15/09. Things were real bad the first 2 weeks, too many lows, like my BS was 60 at least four times a day. Somehow I was over treating lows, taking too much insulin for food after I correctly treated a low and then bolused for a meal. Then I was too high at various times during the day and then bottoming out.

NOT FUN TIMES.

So the next week and a half things seem to go pretty good, I was having some highs in the A… Continue
