Joyous Noel!

Posted on December 23, 2012 at 12:23pm 2 Comments

I want to take a few minutes and wish everyone a wonderful holiday! With everything that has happened in the world in the last few months, weeks and days I realize how very lucky I am. How thankful I am to be spending the Holidays with friends and family that I could not live without.

Sometimes when I feel defeated I log in to Tudiabetes and so often see all of your words of encouragement, support and love for each other and it reminds me none of us are alone in this. I wish you all…

Feeling out of control...

Posted on January 17, 2012 at 4:14pm 2 Comments

Let me start by saying I have never been one to be dedicated 100% to managing my Diabetes. Up until 3 years ago. Now, heading into my 11 yr anniversary, I wish I could go back in time and have a redo.

My most recent A1c was 7.4. Not good for someone who is hoping to have a baby!

I have my appointment with the scary eye doctor tomorrow to check my progress with Retinopathy. I am sooooo nervous it's gotten worse. It is currently Non-Proliferative, which I guess is good, as I was…

Hi everyone! just going through some stuff tonight and found some blurbs I had written down over the years... thought some of you would relate so I thought I would share them! Some are things I have said to family, friends and complete strangers! Some things have just made me feel better to say outloud or jot in a note to self for later. I guess we all have a way to deal with this major malfunctioning of a vital organ that brings us…

I FEEL good.....

So, it is Saturday and I am at my part time job at a tanning salon which is my gas and prescription money. I also get free tanning. I know what you are going to say, new evidence links indoor UV exposure to cancer even more than smoking. I have heard that a few times this week, but hey I am probrably going to die from diabetes complications anyway.

Or am I?

On June 15th I began insulin pump therapy. I chose the Minimed Paradigm 722 because it came in purple and I saw the… Continue

WTF

Posted on July 12, 2009 at 4:34pm 2 Comments

SO, I am having a serious WTF day.

I started on the pump ( mini-med Paradigm ) 6/15/09. Things were real bad the first 2 weeks, too many lows, like my BS was 60 at least four times a day. Somehow I was over treating lows, taking too much insulin for food after I correctly treated a low and then bolused for a meal. Then I was too high at various times during the day and then bottoming out.

NOT FUN TIMES.

So the next week and a half things seem to go pretty good, I was… Continue

I'm sorry to hear you had a rough day! Give it some time. It will take a little tweeking in the beginning to get things right. I felt a little overwhelmed at first too because its learning something new to what you understood before. Change is hard sometimes but it will be a change for the better in the end! I know what you mean about lows too! They make me cranky too! ;) Hang in there!
