So diabetes has struck my family with yet another blow. I was also diagnosed with type 1 later than most and it is so frustrating that every thing I find is about type 2, which is ok but I really would like more information on type 1. There doesn't seem to be enough support or information…"

The nurse never had time for me and kept cancelling appointments, saw a social worker there and she asked me if I was depressed. Mind you that was ten years ago, things may be dif, and probably dif CDE's. Totally a waste of my time, the dietitian didn't even tell me how to
count carbs, how could I take a seriously obese dietitian seriously anyway? Hypocrite! I learned more from current dietitian, she spends as much time with me as needed, gives me free stuff to try, including test strips, I just want to know if all dietitians stick to the same regime for all patients. I am being referred to a new endo, and nurse educator, but keeping same dietitian, out of the four others I seen, she is the only one that helped me make sense and understand how to carb count. Youville was a HORRIBLE experience for me, but like I said that was ten years ago, things change, maybe better now, hopefully for all those patients going there!
