My son has been using the Dexcom Platinum for one month. We have gone through seven sensors. Thanks to this site, we have tried every skin prep known to man and nothing is helping. We have used IV…Continue

Dexcom Question---How often do you use your meter?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Sarah Mar 5. 27 Replies

Hi all,My son just started on the newest CGM this week. Somewhere along the way, I interpreted the CGM as a monitor I could count on most the time (in place of using a meter all day long.) We do…Continue

Dexcom: The Good and the Bad

The Good News: My son (age 11) has been using the Dexcom D4 for 3 months. His A1C in February was 7.1%. Today was 6.4%. We rely on the Dexcom just about 100% of the time. We use the meter only to double check the Dexcom when prompted to by the Dexcom, or if he feels different that what the Dexcom is telling him. Needless to say, the Dexcom has been remarkably accurate.THE BAD: We still can not get the transmitter to stick to his skin. We have tried: Skin Tac, Matisol, Tegaderm tape, Flexi-fix…See More

Welcome to the family!! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of what you will learn is that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and vent to, if needed.
