I was diagnosed in October 2010. I hadn't been feeling well, so my wife made me go to the ER. I was DKA, with a blood glucose reading of 1153. The medical staff was shocked that I was still able to walk and talk! I spent four days in the hospital, learning all I could about my new T1 lifestyle. I was on five injections a day (MDI), until this past February. I've been pumping happily since.
