Hi, i'm Vanessa and im 17. Ive had diabetes for nearly 3 years now and i think ive coped pretty well. I found this website just randomly google searching about diabetes etc and decided to sign up. Its been really helpful and everyones is welcoming and its been good to meet new people who actually understand :)

It seems to effect most people sooner than it effects me. I don't go low unless I have more than a couple of drinks and not until the next morning.

It's your liver that is blocking sugar release into your body, the after effect of alcohol on the liver, that causes the drop in sugar. The more alcohol, the more your liver is affected.

If I go out with friends, I'll drink Michelob Ultra. It has 2.6 carbs per 12oz bottle and my numbers are pretty normal when I get home and the next morning.
